[From www.martialartsorangecounty.net] First HKB Wing Chun “Sunday” Core Skill Training Overview At HKB Martial Arts Orange County [Hek Ki Boen Headquarter] ….. First, I want to recognize and give BIG KUDOS to John Maguire, with some challenges for his age, he manage to went over the whole 3.5 Hours Insane Training with us! TWO THUMBS UP!!! Second, I want to congratulate all the Orientation Program’s Student who were selected to participate into this Six Weeks Challenge. I am proud of each one of you for the dedication and hard training. In life, there is up and down, in my effort of spreading Black Flag Wing Chun in all over the world, there moments of happiness and disappointment, but being with each one of you, in that extreme sweat dripping insane training, side by side, training together and witnessing all of your motivation, is the HIGHLIGHTED MOMENTS of my Kung Fu Life. This what Fuels me to keep going to spread, preserve and advance Black Flag Wing Chun for future generation. And also toward the Leadership students, who took advantage to exercise their privilege to be able to participate in this training, I wanna say that, certainly, you are in the right track and happy to see everyone trying to raise the bar, take the training to the next level!!! Great Work Everyone, I am extremely proud of everyone. Looking forward to do another INSANE CORE SKILL Training with my Kung Fu Family next Sunday. Sifu Kenneth Lin #HKBMartialArtsOrangeCounty . FEEDBACKS “So I was telling my girlfriend, “It’s sort of like giving birth”. “What are you talking about” she said. I then went on to explain that on Sunday, I began the first of six, intensive Kung Fu conditioning classes and that is was very much like giving birth. It hurts like hell, but then you don’t remember the pain after a while and you want to do it again. I didn’t know what to expect before the class but as it progressed, it was clear that this was going to be one very long and intensive training session. I am glad that Sifu Lin did not reveal how many repetitions or sets we would be doing otherwise I would have panicked. However, one thing I learned is that we are all capable of amazing feats if we believe in ourselves and just try. I had never tried to learn the Siam Chan until today but I sure did get a lot of practice. I was so excited to know say that I can “sort of” do it and am part of the big boys training regimen now. As for the punches, all I want to say is that there were a lot of them. I forgot home many we did but it was in the thousands. And don’t get me started on the stances and foot work! An equally large number of repetitions… When the session was done, there was a collective sigh of relief from the class and a sense of accomplish that you rarely get from less demanding tasks. This was on par with having run a marathon. You look back and ask yourself how did I do it? Getting back to giving birth, as the burning shoulders and thighs subside under the strong hands of my masseuse I almost forget the pain and can say, “I am ooking forward to next week and another kick a$$ session. Thank you Sifu Lin.”- John Maguire The post First HKB Wing Chun “Sunday” Core Skill Training Overview appeared first on Martial Arts Orange County.
