Within HKB system, the higher level of Hoat Keng[Impulse Power] Actually looks for subtle. Toward the end, the same amount of shocked power can be released, not only in the subtle way, but also in the SLOW MOTION, effortlessly against the theory of physical acceleration.

Real Kung Fu Skill comes from Real Hard Work.

[Daily Training Tips]

HKB Wing Chun is known and famous for it’s unique explosive impulsed power known as Hoat Keng.

The truth is in HKB system, Power development is not even being focused as a training objective.

The main focus is toward Detachment of Microcosm[Body, Mind, and Breathing], Macrocosm[Heaven/Time & Earth/Space] and Emptyness.

The power is an immediate side-benefit as a result of first stage of Detachment.

One of the person who inspired me was Bruce Lee. A very good saying of his was “Using No Way as THE WAY”……

Unfortunely, many people did the opposite way; Using ALL WAYS as the way……

Remember, it’s now how many collection of techniques, concept, etc…..DO NOT LIMIT YOURSELVES within the boundary of the “SURFACE” level. Look for deeper understanding within the system and stick with it until you find the “True Essence”

Chuan Shi Zhong Dao…..

What is that? Respect the teacher and Loyal to the Family/Lineage.

A Traditional Chinese Sifu always looks for this kind of trait/character among their students. Without this character, it is almost impossible for the student to learn a deeper version of the Kung Fu system as an indoor disciple. A person who do not pass this test of character will never get any deeper knowledge rather just collection of movements on the surface level……. via Sifu Kenneth Lin Xiang Fuk Fan Page

[HKB Daily Training Tips]

It is not about how many lineage of Wing Chun learn can develop your skills, But it is about How much work, commitment, effort, time, pain, bruise, tear, sometime blood you put into training.

After all, the real secret is HARD WORK. Kung Fu=hard work

Real Kung Fu = Real Hard Work

No Hard Work = Fake Kung Fu!

One of my grand student once told me about a certain self-proclaim Wing Chun researcher who travel to many places to collect videos, made a statement of “All the answers can not be found in One Lineage”.

I respect that opinion and I agree to that and however, All the answers ALSO CAN NOT BE FOUND IN LEARNING MULTIPLE LINEAGE.

Because the truth is it takes a lifetime to understand the real essence of one particular lineage. Once someone truly understand the essence and achieve the final destination [High level skill achievement], then he/she no longer see differences in lineages or even other style. Because it all arrives in the same destination, using different route map and vehicle to get there.

Furthermore, if you keep changing your Route Map [Way of training], or combine two maps one goes through south and other using north route, then you never arrive to the final destination.

On the side note, a true Kung Fu master should also understand the meaning of Chuan Shi Zhong Dao and live with that principle.

Great class tonight, as always time flew by too fast.. There is so much to learn, as well as to work on.. I totally understand what Master Lin is teaching us, but as with anything, it will take time and practice to master.. Any question I have is answered in full detail, and he goes out of his way to make sure we understand it.. I am glad i actually went through with the decision to train here, at first i didnt think much of it, now I am thrilled with the challenges and the learning experience of it all.. As a Boxer I have to say, this is SO MUCH MORE CHALLENGING than any combat sport i have ever known.. If you thirst for knowledge and learning new things this is definitely the way to go, one of the best decisions i have ever made.. I can only hope to one day reach Master Lin’s level of proficiency..

6 Exercises To Build Your 6 Pack

dot

Whether it’s out at the beach, on stage at a physique competition, or any other public place where bodies are dressed scantily clad, the physiques that stand out among all the rest are those that posses rock-hard wash board abdominal muscles. When we come across shirtless bodies, the very first place our eyes are instantly drawn to is the abdomen. After-all, the abdominal muscles are the center piece of the entire body and are a major indication of top level fitness and conditioning.

Most people wouldn’t argue that a well sculpted mid section is also a major sexual trigger to the opposite sex. This is why you see wash board stomachs in underwear and swim wear ads. The sex appeal of 6-pack abs is universally acknowledged, therefore, making that image a superb marketing tool.

When the ancient Greeks built statues of God’s and hero’s, they sculpted them with rippling, 6-pack abdominal muscles because to them this represented divine power and strength. Likewise, all the super-hero’s featured in comic books and movies are never void of wash board abs. It is unlikely that you will ever see a Spartan or Gladiator movie featuring pot-bellied warriors going to battle. Perhaps you would see that at a Green Bay Packer game though! I’m not talking out on the field either; I’m talking about the concession stands! Yuk-yuk!

1. Barbell Side Split Squat

Since while you’re out on the tennis court you’ll often shift sideways to go after the ball, it’s important that you strengthen the quads while working on your agility and balance in this sideways direction.

Barbell side split squats are perfect for this purpose since they will load the body with a weight while you perform this exact movement pattern. When performing these, just watch that you maintain an upright position as best as possible throughout the movement to prevent the development of stress on the lower back muscles.

Complete two or three sets of 8-12 reps leaning to each side.

2. Cable Lying Triceps Extension

To help strengthen the muscles for hitting the ball, lying triceps extensions will be a good option. These will feel slightly different than the traditional triceps extensions you may have performed in the past with a dumbbell moving toward the back of the body, so don’t get overly concerned if the weight you need to use is lower.

To do these, lie on a bench in front of a cable machine holding a straight bar attached to the pulley over your head. From there, slowly begin to extend the elbow continuing along the diagonal path until it is fully extended but not in a locked position. Slowly move back to the start position to complete the rep. Perform 8-12 reps of these per set, aiming to complete 2-to-3 sets total each workout session.

3. Dumbbell Stationary Lunges

Another good exercise to add to your tennis training preparation program is stationary lunges. These are important because you utilize the quad muscles as you reach to receive the ball.

Holding a pair of dumbbells, stand with feet shoulder-width apart and then take one step forward bending both knees until the back knee almost touches the ground.

From there, press back up again and return to the standing position to complete the rep. If you try and pause for a very brief second while you’re in the lowered lunge position you’ll increase the intensity of this exercise; it will eliminate the chances you will use momentum to carry you through the movement.

4. Cable Seated Rear Lateral Raises

Another upper body strengthening exercise to perform that will help with your tennis performance is cable lateral raises. Building strong shoulders will help you follow through with your stroke, allowing you to generate more power and hit the ball faster and harder.

Note that you can also perform these for the front deltoid by raising the cables up in front of you rather than to the sides of the body.

5. Ab Roller

You will want to do some exercises to work the abdominal muscles of the body. Having a strong core will prevent you from breaking as you go after the ball. It also helps provide a sturdier base of support when you rapidly change directions on the court.

One very good abdominal exercise to add is the Ab Roller. You will need this piece of equipment to perform this properly, but most gyms have one or else you can purchase it at a very reasonable price.

This movement is great because it will not only work the muscles deep within the muscle tissue, but it’s also going to help work the shoulder girdle as you roll out, pause and then roll back in.

When first starting this exercise you may find that you aren’t able to roll all the way out, so just go as far as you can controllably. You’re better off to roll a shorter distance out and be able to control it, than to try going farther and fall to the floor.

As time goes on and the muscles grow stronger you’ll find that you’re better able to maintain control and go the full distance to the floor.

6. Arm Circles

Finally, at the end of each workout (and this is good to do before a match as well), perform some basic arm circles. This will help to keep the shoulder joint loose and limber, reducing the tension that develops in all the tendons, ligaments and muscles.

Elbow problems are a big problem that many individuals deal with at some point during their training. Keep the shoulder joint loose and you’ll also relax the muscles leading to the elbow and help prevent pain from developing.

If you want to increase the stretch on the shoulders when doing this exercise, you could hold very light 2-5 pound weights. Just be sure you don’t start swinging the arms too quickly or you could pull a tendon or muscle.

Conclusion…..

Don’t just dive right into your tennis training with little or no preparation. Take a few weeks beforehand to start doing some tennis-specific moves in the gym so you can transition easier, having better results and feeling more comfortable while you’re out there.

Base on my experience and research, the creators of WC are already high level fighters. They already have the basic Chinese Kung Fu skills of Ti (kick), Da(strike),Shuai(takedown),Na(submission). WC is taking the complete combat and make it most efficient. But most people today turn WC into a style of fighting, going for the looks, not the concepts of WC economy of motions.Efficiency is not a style or an act.
